Just a couple short hours after the contest was launched, Jen came through with the name of one of the Misfit Toys from "Rudolph."
Charlie in the Box. This guy:
(By the way, if you want a Time Zero for the beginning of the movement to permit gay marriage, it's 1964, the first year "Rudolph" was broadcast and Charlie made his debut. )
Other acceptable answers would have been King Moonracer, Cowboy Riding Ostrich, Birdfish, Train With Square Wheels, Doll With No Discernible Defect Yet Is Somehow Inexplicably On The Island, and of course, any member of Hanson.
Anyway, Jen wins the contest, and since she's hundreds of miles away, she (and you too, I guess) get a video tour of the Island so she can pick out her prize club:
So, Jen, get a look at your many (ok, several) wonderful (ok, decent) options, and let me know what you want. Plus, there will be a pastry. Any preference?
If you have suggestions for Jen, leave them in the comments.
BTW, just a few days left to participate in the extraordinarily unexciting poll. That's not something you want to miss!

Rick Goldschmidt in his book "The Enchanted World of Rankin Bass" writes: In the original broadcast the Dolly's screen time is mere seconds. I don't believe Romeo Muller really gave the character much thought. She was granted more screen time in the 1965 and 1997 broadcasts which ultimately led many a fan to wonder what was wrong with her. Arthur Rankin says that Dolly's problem is more psychological. As it is never mentioned in the script why in particular the doll is a misfit, some offer this: Charlie-in-the-Box tells Rudolph, Hermey and Yukon when they arrive on the Island of Misfit Toys that King Moonracer flies over the earth each night and brings unloved toys to the Island of Misfits. Dolly is perhaps there because she feels she is unloved and perhaps the little girl who once played with her is now grown up and Dolly now sits in a box, unwanted, waiting to be loved by another little girl again. In other words Dolly (rumor has it her name was Sue) was suffering from depression and since Prozac was not readily available then King Moonracer brought her to the Island of Misfit Toys.
And what about the squirt gun that only shoots grape jelly, the toy boat that sinks instead of floating, and the airplane that can't fly? How can anyone forget those?!
I do believe that I have revealed that I have way too much time on my hands...errrrrrrrrrrrrrr, what I really meant to say was congrats Jen!
Yes, those answers would all have been acceptable too.
"Charlie in the Box"... In this case, "box" could be looked at as more of a proverbial "closet".
